The "Summit" : Nashville, December 10, 2016

The Proof of Concept OnePSG makes a second trip to Nashville. This time, Steve has invited four of the world's top tier pedal steel players who've heard about the OnePSG and want to see it up close and try it out. As it turns out, one of the PSG greats can't make it but the others can.

I head over to Steve's house Friday afternoon and we set up. The thing still has external gear and sometimes the sensors are finicky. And, just because something must go wrong, there is a bad wire in the power adapter that causes some buzz. We finally get it working. I head out to meet friends and hear Steve Conn at The Family Wash, so I don't think about how nervous I am about Saturday. (BTW, the Steve Conn show was fantastic!)

Saturday comes and after everyone's arrival, each of the greats takes a turn. Buck Reid, Dan Dugmore, and Randle Currie. They each try out the E9, then with the "flip of a switch," play C6. Another flip and one capoes the E9 down to D9 or C9. Of course they all sound fantastic. They exchange wonderful stories. We have some lunch.

Everyone realizes this means a very light PSG, one that can have any copedent, one that has no string fatigue or cabinet drop, etc. I discuss the kinds of advice I'd like to get from them about functionality and design.

Two life-long dreams: to realize this vision, and to meet with these virtuosos.
