It's Getting Beta All The Time

This post is a quick update on the status of the Beta Prototype. For more information about it, be sure to check this link.

In summary, there are several fronts being worked on simultaneously:

Alan is working with Colin I. and Steve T., Electrical Engineers Extraordinaire, to modify a few features of the main (aka "Control") PCB. Some components are being replaced or upgraded, some are changing position on the board, etc.

Redesign of "Control” PCB in progress.

The redesign of the pickup PCB and sensor PCBs are yet to begin but will be very simple.

The touchscreen display used in the alpha prototype is being replaced by a much higher resolution display. Looks great. Alan's coding away at the changes needed, as well as coding other features and capabilities that weren't needed/used in the Alpha.

Pedal and lever sensor assembly.

On another front, Alan is working with Cary S. to design the metal parts needed in the OnePSG design: pedal and lever assemblies, endplates, pedals, etc.

On a third front, the body, there’s been quite a breakthrough! Alan is working with a well-known and respected Pedal Steel builder on the cabinet build and the machining of the metal parts mentioned above.

Maple body (for one of the two Beta Prototypes.

Two necks. One fore each of the two Beta Prototypes.

There you go. That's the latest. Stay tuned.
